Projects we have been working on recently @ litoria consulting:
Protected Vegetation Management Plan, Sunnybank
Litoria have been engaged by the Sunnybank Community and Sports Club to help the Club manage vegetation on their site. This involved the preparation of a Protected Vegetation Management Plan under the Brisbane City Council’s Natural Assets Local Law (NALL). A long-term agreement between Council and the Club was reached that established a framework for managing risks associated with hazardous vegetation. This is the first agreement of its kind and was set up in a complex environment; balancing the issues of risk management with nature conservation and administrative requirements. Coordinating the needs of all stakeholders, Litoria were able to work with Council to determine the process for any future applications.
Ecological assessment, Bulimba
Litoria Consulting ecologists undertook an ecological assessment of an industrial development at a prominent Brisbane River waterfront location, which encompassed a complex set of local and State environmental constraints such as wetlands, erosion prone areas, storm tide inundation areas and marine plants. These environmental constraints required careful collaboration between our scientists and project planners, engineers and architects to develop a design which avoided significant environmental impacts. Where impacts were unavoidable, our team successfully identified environmental management measures to manage and offset identified environmental impacts.
