Projects we have been working on recently @ litoria consulting:
Churches of Christ Queensland – Property Map of Assessable Vegetation
In recent weeks, the environmental team at Litoria Consulting have lodged a Property Map of Assessable Vegetation (PMAV) application to amend the types and extent of remnant vegetation mapped on a site located west of Toowoomba. The application involved botanical survey, spatial analysis of survey results and LiDAR data and preparation and lodgement of a PMAV report and map. The application successfully demonstrated that the extents of remnant vegetation on site was less than the extents shown on the State Regulated Vegetation Management Map, ultimately increasing the projects development yield whilst reducing environmental regulatory burden for later project stages.
Walker Corporation – Bushfire Hazard Assessment and Vegetation Management
Litoria Consulting were recently commissioned by Walker Corporation to undertake a Bushfire Hazard Assessment and Management Plan for a residential subdivision located near Gladstone. The project involved a technical review of the previous bushfire assessment, spatial analysis of the current design versus bushfire hazard factors, assessment of hazard against the State Planning Policy and Australian Standards and provided recommendations to avoid, manage and mitigate potential bushfire hazards associated with the proposed development. Litoria’s senior scientists are presently at the forefront of the assessment and management of bushfire hazard in Queensland, and their expertise in this area provided Walker Corporation with management strategies that will effectively manage bushfire hazard whilst remaining cost effective, timely and practical for the developer to implement.
