litoria consulting has recently been awarded the 2011 Planning Institute of Australia – Queensland ‘Hard Won Victory’ award for our involvement in the Cotterill Avenue Aged Care Facility. This award was shared with Churches of Christ Queensland, Tract Consultants and Deicke Richards.

This project involved a public benevolent institution working in a successful partnership with  all levels of government in order to overcome a major challenge of the unexpected consequences of land tenure.

The project represents a hard won victory with limited availability of resources and providing benefits for aged care residents and low income households. This project was the first private sector housing development to be recognised as a significant community project under the Vegetation Management Act.
