What: Koala Habitat Assessment

Why: The purpose of the habitat assessment and survey was to:

  1. Assess the koala habitat/connectivity values of the site in accordance with the State Government Supported Community Infrastructure Koala Conservation Policy;
  2. Minimise clearing of koala habitat where possible; and,
  3. Determine potential environmental offset requirements for unavoidable clearing of non-juvenile koala habitat trees in accordance with the Offsets for Net Gain of Koala Habitat in South East Queensland.
Outcomes: litoria ecologists completed a koala habitat survey followed by a Koala Habitat Assessment report that discussed the survey results  with reference to the projects description, various statutory requirements and vegetation and koala management and compliance strategies.
