- Walker Corporation ‘Citiswich’ – Master Bushland Rehabilitation Strategy
Litoria ecologists have recently completed a Master Bushland Rehabilitation Strategy as part of the development of the Citiswich Bremer Business Park. This complex design project involved botanical survey, vegetation mapping and composite spatial analysis of a range of existing and future constraints including the impacts of revegetation on Bremer River riverine flooding and existing infrastructure easements. The Strategy has been designed to maximise biodiversity conservation outcomes, minimise development costs through judicious design and comply with relevant development permit conditions.
- Pearson Industrial – Trunk Sewer Operational Works
Litoria’s team of specialist ecologists have recently completed work on several assessment and planning reports associated with a development application for a new trunk sewer by a private developer on behalf of Gold Coast Water. The project occurred in a complex policy and assessment environment which included different tenures, ownership and environmental planning constraints (local and State). Litoria’s scope of services for this project included applications for tenure, environmental planning and assessment, environmental management planning, vegetation management and revegetation design. The development application demonstrates best practice environmental management in the design and installation of linear infrastructure.
- Spaceframe Buildings – Coastal Hazard Risk Assessment
Litoria Consulting was commissioned by Spaceframe Buildings to conduct a Coastal Hazard Risk Assessment as part of a proposed development in Gladstone. The final report involved spatial analysis, risk assessment and compliance assessment. Litoria’s environmental scientists provided additional design and management recommendations which ensured satisfactory compliance with the Queensland Coastal Plan and State Planning Policy for Coastal Protection (SPP 3/11) and supported approval of the application.
- Various Clients – Vegetation Management Plans
Litoria Consulting continues to produce plans and reports for the conservation and management of vegetation, throughout Queensland. In August alone, Litoria’s team of specialist ecologists and draftspersons have assessed, designed and documented vegetation management plans for properties in the Gold Coast, Moreton Bay and Brisbane areas. The integration of spatial analysis software – CAD and GIS – allowed us to rapidly composite all relevant environmental and heritage features to identify development constraints and ascertain timely solutions for our clients. Cross-platform compatibility allowed us to provide data in numerous formats more rapidly assess project impacts and provide feedback to engineers, planners, architects and surveyors.
